Meet Emma
I have extensive hands-on experience with dogs of all sizes, primarily with alpha breeds and large breeds, considering their temperaments and energy levels. My background includes breeding German Shepherds and managing a pack of 10 of my own dogs, which provided me with a deep understanding of canine behavior, pack dynamics, and how to safely handle multiple dogs at once. I find that dogs tend to warm up to me quickly, and I genuinely enjoy working with them, whether in dog daycare settings or through my dog boarding services. I also have a passion for helping rescue dogs feel safe and comfortable, especially during their owners' overnight pet care needs.
Through my work with the American Kennel Club, I earned the distinction of Breeder of Merit, reflecting my commitment to responsible breeding, health standards, and proper care. My active membership in the German Shepherd Dog Club of America and participation in the Schutzhund club community keep me deeply involved in training, temperament evaluation, and working-dog development.
Given this background, I am comfortable working with energetic puppies that need structure and training, as well as senior dogs that require patience and attentive care. I am experienced in reading dog body language, preventing conflicts between dogs, and maintaining a calm, safe environment for all.
During the Stay
A typical day at our home, where we offer dog boarding services, is structured but relaxed to ensure that dogs feel comfortable and engaged. Mornings usually start with potty breaks and some time outside in my fully fenced yard, allowing them to stretch, explore, and play. After that, the dogs settle in for breakfast and some calm time.
Throughout the day, I rotate between supervised yard time, play sessions, and relaxing inside the house, which is ideal for dog daycare. Dogs receive plenty of attention, exercise, and mental stimulation. Depending on the dog's personality and energy level, activities may include walks, structured play, basic training reinforcement, or simply relaxing nearby and receiving affection.
I am home full-time, enabling me to provide consistent supervision and attention throughout the day. Because of this, pets in my care are rarely left alone and receive frequent potty breaks, walks, playtime, and interaction. I keep a close eye on group dynamics to ensure every dog is comfortable and safe.
In the evenings, we wind down with more outdoor time, feeding, and quiet relaxation before bedtime, allowing dogs to settle in and feel at home. All new dogs are introduced slowly to ensure everyone is comfortable. They are separated during feeding to prevent resource guarding, and I have crates available for dogs that are crate-trained or need their own quiet space to rest.
With my experience in dog boarding services and managing multiple dogs, I am skilled at reading dog body language and carefully managing group dynamics. My schedule is extremely flexible, accommodating different routines, including puppies that need more frequent outings and senior dogs that benefit from a calm environment and regular care. I can also handle last-minute bookings and various drop-off or pick-up times as needed.
Each owner will receive detailed puppy report cards, along with photos and videos, providing updates or addressing any concerns during their dog’s stay with us for overnight pet care.
Our Standards

Since we provide personalized in-home care instead of a traditional kennel setting, every new dog must complete a temperament and compatibility evaluation before we can accept a boarding request. This allows us to understand your dog’s personality, energy level, behavior, and individual needs while ensuring they are a good fit for our home and the other dogs in our care. We intentionally keep our standards high because we believe every dog deserves a safe, calm, and positive experience during their stay, making our dog daycare an excellent choice for pet parents.
To protect the health of every guest in our dog boarding services, we require current veterinary records and proof of up-to-date Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations before boarding. Dogs must arrive in good health and be free of contagious illnesses, fleas, ticks, intestinal parasites, or any condition that could put other dogs at risk. Any dog showing signs of illness, such as vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, or other contagious symptoms before or during their stay, may be unable to board until they have fully recovered. These requirements help us maintain a healthy environment where every dog can safely enjoy their time away from home.
Because our overnight pet care takes place inside our home, cleanliness is one of our highest priorities. Living spaces, kennels, feeding stations, water bowls, bedding, and high-touch surfaces are cleaned and disinfected regularly using pet-safe, veterinary-grade products. Fresh water is always available, waste is removed promptly, and each guest has access to a clean, comfortable space where they can rest and relax. We believe a clean home is essential not only for preventing the spread of illness but also for creating a peaceful environment where dogs feel secure and comfortable.
Every dog is cared for as an individual, not just another boarding reservation. We take the time to learn your dog’s routine, feeding schedule, medications, exercise needs, favorite activities, and any special instructions so we can make their stay as familiar and stress-free as possible. At New Era K9s, we are fully licensed and insured, providing you with confidence and peace of mind while your dog is in our care. Unlike traditional commercial kennels, our dog boarding services offer a true home-away-from-home experience where dogs become part of our daily routine instead of spending the majority of their stay confined to a run or kennel. Our home features multiple dedicated boarding rooms, and all guests enjoy access to our comfortable shared living spaces, which are cleaned and sanitized regularly using pet-safe, veterinary-grade cleaning practices. Dogs are welcome on our furniture because we believe they deserve the same comfort, affection, and sense of belonging they enjoy at home.
This home-based approach helps reduce stress and anxiety, encourages a smoother transition away from their owners, and allows dogs to maintain a more natural daily routine in a calm, family-oriented environment. Instead of the loud, high-volume atmosphere often associated with commercial kennels, we intentionally provide a quieter, more personalized experience where each dog receives individualized attention, compassionate care, and plenty of interaction throughout the day. Whether you need dog daycare or overnight pet care, we believe this difference not only creates a more enjoyable boarding experience but also helps your dog feel safe, relaxed, and truly at home while you’re away.
Emergency Care
Your dog’s health and safety are my highest priorities during their stay in my dog boarding services. While every effort is made to provide a safe, supervised environment and prevent emergencies, I understand that unexpected situations can occur. If your dog becomes ill, is injured, or requires urgent medical attention while utilizing our dog daycare or overnight pet care, I will assess the situation and make every reasonable effort to contact you using the provided emergency contact information.
If immediate veterinary care is necessary and I cannot reach you, or if delaying treatment could compromise your dog’s health or safety, New Era K9s is authorized to seek appropriate veterinary care on your behalf. Your dog will be transported to their primary veterinarian whenever reasonably possible during normal business hours. If your veterinarian is unavailable, closed, or the situation requires swift action, care will be sought from the nearest appropriate emergency veterinary hospital.
Owners are responsible for all veterinary expenses incurred during their dog’s stay in our dog boarding services. Any medications prescribed by the attending veterinarian will be administered as directed, and I will keep you informed with updates on your dog’s condition, treatment recommendations, and recovery.
Every dog owner is required to provide a current veterinarian, an emergency contact, and authorization for emergency medical treatment before boarding begins. This ensures that should an emergency arise during dog daycare or overnight pet care, your dog receives prompt medical attention without unnecessary delays.
Although emergencies are uncommon, being prepared is an important aspect of responsible pet care. My goal is to provide every dog with a safe, comfortable, and closely supervised home environment while giving owners peace of mind that, if the unexpected happens, their pet will be cared for quickly, compassionately, and in their best interest.

Our home is a completely smoke-free environment, ensuring a clean and healthy space for every dog in our care—especially for puppies, senior dogs, and those with respiratory sensitivities.
For added protection, our property is equipped with an ADT security system and 24/7 security cameras that monitor the boarding areas, entrances, and key locations throughout the property. This additional layer of security enables us to closely oversee the dogs, maintaining a safe environment at all times.
Unlike high-volume commercial boarding facilities, our home is actively occupied, allowing for continuous supervision throughout the day and night. In addition to secure fencing and controlled access, our thoughtful dog management practices and personalized dog daycare services create a comfortable and secure environment. You can have peace of mind knowing your dog is safe and well cared for while enjoying overnight pet care away from home.
